Mountain Film Screening
With an introductory keynote address by Steve Hawk, former executive editor of Sierra Magazine, and founding director of the Tony Hawk Foundation
When: Wednesday, March 20th at 7 p.m.*
Location: Peery’s Egyptian Theater, 2415 Washington Blvd, Ogden
Only three centuries ago, setting out to climb a mountain would have been considered close to lunacy. Mountains were places of peril, not beauty, an upper world to be shunned, not sought out. Why do mountains now hold us spellbound, drawing us into their dominion, often at the cost of our lives? Through astonishing images and beautiful cinematography, Mountain explores the evolving relationship we have with peaks around the world.
The Shaw Gallery is pleased to co-sponsor this screening as the kickoff for the WSU Outdoor Weber entrepreneurial event.
*Doors open at 6 p.m., first 100 people through the door receive 2 tickets for post-film screening outdoor gear prize giveaway
