What were you doing in 1999? While MySpace was making its internet debut and The Matrix was hitting box offices, HEAL Utah was becoming an official nonprofit under our original name, Families Against Incinerator Risk (FAIR), so we could work more on toxic, chemical, and radioactive waste issues.
A lot has changed in the last 20 years. We changed our name to the Healthy Environment Alliance of Utah (HEAL Utah) and expanded our work to include clean air and energy and climate, although we still are dedicated to our radioactive waste work. And while MySpace isn’t even a website anymore and Avengers: Endgame has taken over box offices, HEAL has remained a constant force in Utah through it all.
We invite you to celebrate the last two decades and the next 20 years of HEAL Utah at our 20th Anniversary Fall Party on Thursday, October 10th from 6:30-9:30 PM.
Join us for an evening of meeting new people excited about making a change, reconnecting with familiar faces, and getting excited about what’s next for HEAL. We’ll have local food to keep you full and drinks for you to enjoy (every ticket comes with two free drinks). And on top of our short program where you’ll hear directly from staff, you’ll have chance to have all your environmental concerns addressed by the local and now viral group Old Coots Giving Bad Advice!
An hour before general admission, there will be a small Anniversary Allies Reception where you’ll get more one-on-one time with the staff and board plus a couple other special treats. Just be sure to buy the Anniversary Allies Reception ticket at check-out! This reception starts at 5:30 PM.
Our annual fall party is one of our favorite ways to connect with our supporters (like you!) and to introduce new people to the work that we do, so get your tickets today and bring a friend or two who aren’t yet familiar with HEAL’s work.
All tickets include food and two drink tickets which can be used for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Additional drinks will be available for purchase. Please note: This event is open to all ages and IDs will be checked upon entering.
