“An Evening of Music” will be held at the Ogden Tabernacle on Sunday, April 8, 2017 at 7:00pm. The Ogden LDS Tabernacle is located next to the Ogden LDS Temple. This evening of sacred music will feature over 120 members of the LDS Institute at Weber State University in a sacred, spirit-oriented devotional that will pay tribute to the Savior in word and song. The focus of this program is to share that no matter what any one of us has been through, the Savior is always calling us to come to Him. As referenced in the hymn; Come unto Jesus: “Ever he calls, Come to me.” The program portrays that the Savior extends His generous invitation simply because He loves us and He knows we need Him because we all make mistakes.
This devotional will highlight the outstanding talents of two choirs, The Institute Singers and the Institute Choir. We will also have small ensembles and instrumental accompaniment. All are invited to participate in this evening. The program will last approximately one hour.
The spoken words given will be from the scriptures and words of the Prophets. The songs that will be performed include: Savior Redeemer of My Soul, Come Unto Him, One by One (written by Elder David A.Bednar and Paul Cardall), Be Thou Humble, I Am a Child of God, I’m Trying to Be Like Jesus, and a new, powerful rendition of God So Loved the World. Two ensembles will perform Have I Done Any Good and Our Savior’s Love. Open to the public and no charge.
