Capsule reviews, by Standard-Examiner movie critic Steve Salles, of this week’s releases on DVD:

AMERICAN REUNION ** (R) Crude and sexual content throughout, nudity, language, brief drug use and teen drinking. The full cast of the original “American Pie” movies has returned to torment us one more time. Now, it’s years later and they supposedly have all grown up — well, maybe all but Stifler. He’s still grotesque personified. 113 minutes.

Also being released:

BEING FLYNN (R) Language, some sexual content, drug use and brief nudity. Robert De Niro and Paul Dano headline writer/director Paul Weitz’s adaptation of Nick Flynn’s memoir, “Another Bullshit Night in Suck City.” 102 minutes.

BLACK LIMOUSINE (R) Language, brief nudity and violent images. David Arquette and Bijou Phillips co-star in this direct-to-video drama. Arquette is Jack, a former composer for Hollywood movies who bottoms out and takes a sideline job as a limousine chauffeur to help pay the bills.

FREAK DANCE (Not rated) A group of ambitious dancers strive to master the notorious “Freak Dance” in order to win an underground competition and save their community center. 97 minutes.

I KISSED A VAMPIRE (PG) Thematic material, vampire action, language and sensuality. A love-struck teenager finds his troubles with girls only get worse when he develops a thirst for blood, in this rock musical starring Lucas Grabeel. 91 minutes.

MYSTERIA (Not rated) Danny Glover, Martin Landeau and Billy Zane topline this mind-bending thriller about a down-on-his-luck Hollywood scribe struggling to finish his latest script under the burden of an impending deadline and a serious case of writer’s block. 90 minutes.
