Van Halen has announced it will postpone 31 North American dates this summer, including a Sept. 4 show planned for Salt Lake City's EnergySolutions Arena. Tickets were not yet on sale.
The postponed shows were to run from July 7 in Uncasville, Conn., through Sept. 25 in Milwaukee. The tour is in support of the band's first new album since 1984 with original singer David Lee Roth, "A Different Kind of Truth." Eddie Van Halen's son, Wolfgang, is playing bass for the band now, replacing founding member Michael Anthony.
According to a press release from the Van Halen New Desk press site, no official reason has been given for the postponements, nor has the band released a statement as to when the dates will be rescheduled.
The band did stress that these dates are merely postponed, not canceled altogether, and noted that several shows were rescheduled during the band 2007-2008 tour -- all were eventually made up.
