Try a sampling of operas at WSU concert Friday

OGDEN — Mozart, Verdi, Barber and more great composers of opera will be featured in a night of opera scenes presented by Weber State University’s department of performing arts.

The night of operatic tunes is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Browning Center’s Eccles Theater, on campus at 3848 Harrison Blvd.

Directed by vocal professor Karen Bruestle, with assistance from Arianne Hellewell and accompaniment from Nylene Douglas, students will sing scenes from Mozart’s “Cosi fan tutte” and “Marriage of Figaro,” Verdi’s “Rigoletto,” Offenbach’s “Tales of Hoffman,” Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena,” Barber’s “Vanessa” and Howland’s “Little Women.”

Performers include Sarah Singer, Heidi Robinson, Morgan Hopkins, Austin Toney, Brook Robison, Shannon Jones, Kirk Stapely, Rachel Hofferitza, Kirsten Stenquist, Brock Robiso and Christine Warren.
