HUNTSVILLE — Take in some live music or go for a horseback ride during Weber Pathways’ new fundraising event — Trail Mixer 2012.

The gathering offers a new spin and venue for the organization’s former TGI Fiesta! fundraiser; it will be held on the eve of the 2012 Mount Ogden 100K mountain bike race.

“Our aim is to gather a community of new trail supporters,” said Rod Kramer, outreach coordinator. Proceeds from the event are used to plan, promote and build nonmotorized trails in Weber County.

Trail Mixer kicks off at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Snowbasin, 3925 E. Snowbasin Road, with opportunities for free hiking, biking, running or even horseback riding, but BYOH — bring your own horse.

At 5:30 p.m., the Social in the Meadow begins with live music by Mike Potter and Andreas Hub, both of Ogden.

The barbecue dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. and features live and silent auctions with a variety of outdoor gear and activities. Tickets are $40, purchased at the door or in advance at 801-393-2304.
