OGDEN — A television sports anchor turned comedian performs at Wiseguys Comedy Club this weekend.

Paul Morrissey, who took to the comedy circuit after discovering TV sports wasn’t his thing after all, appears at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. March 23 and 24 at the club, 269 Historic 25th St.

Raised in Owego, N.Y., Morrissey was always a sports fanatic and played basketball in college. After he switched from talking about sports for a living to making folks laugh, he appeared at the HBO Comedy Festival in Las Vegas and made his network television debut on “The Late Late Show” with Craig Ferguson.

Tickets for the show, geared for age 18 and older, are $10.
