Sensory-friendly 'Wimpy Kid' screens on Saturday

LAYTON — As summer vacation starts to drag, kids will enjoy this sensory-friendly screening of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days,” shown at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Layton Hills 9, 728 W. 1425 North.

This special screening is presented in partnership with the Autism Society and plays with the house lights up and the volume low.

Moviegoers may stand up, talk and walk around the theater. Parents can also bring casein-free and gluten-free snacks.

The 2012 movie, which is rated PG, follows middle-schooler Greg Heffley as his plans for summer vacation are ruined and he must find a new way to spend the summer.
