“RiffTrax Live: ‘Manos: The Hands of Fate’” will be screened at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, in local movie theaters by Fathom Events. This special screening of the 1966 horror film includes live commentary by the RiffTrax hosts Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett.

Started as “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” a TV show airing from 1988 to 1999, the three comedians provide audio commentary that can be synced with movies. Now their RiffTrax can be downloaded and listened to alongside many popular films.

In this special live presentation, the three comedians will give commentary on the cult classic “Manos: The Hands of Fate,” in which vacationers in Texas become trapped in a lodge by a polygamous pagan cult.

Admission is $10.50-$11.50 for adults, $9.50-$10.50 for seniors and students, and $8.50-$9.50 for children.

The movie will be shown at Newgate Tinseltown, 3651 Wall Ave., Ogden; Layton Tinseltown, 720 W. 1500 North; Cinemark Farmington, 900 W. Clark Lane; and Cinemark Bountiful 8, 206 S. 625 West. For information, visit www.fathomevents.com.
