LOGAN — Storyteller Daniel Bishop will be recounting the story of Old Ephraim, Utah’s last known grizzly bear, at the Stokes Nature Center.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, the Montpelier, Idaho, folklorist will tell the story of the battle between shepherd Frank Clark and Utah’s last grizzly bear, an event that took place in Logan Canyon.

Visitors can also see a new life-sized silhouette of Old Ephraim on display at the nature center. The drawing of the approximately 10-foot-tall grizzly has been added to the center’s “measuring wall,” which allows visitors to see how they compare in height with such animals as a moose, elk, deer and coyote.

Admission is $5, or $15 for groups of immediate family. Advanced registration is required. The Stokes Nature Center is at 2696 E. U.S. 89.
