OGDEN — The night will rock at Ogden Amphitheater starting at 7 p.m. Friday, July 6, when a concert and a battle of the bands comes to town.
King Niko, picked as City Weekly’s 2011 Band of the Year, headlines the show, with Indigo 7, Ever Since Tomorrow and Here For the Weekend vying in the competition.
Indigo 7 formed at Ogden High School and placed third in the Standard-Examiner Battle of the Bands this year. Ever Since Tomorrow hails from Park City; Here for the Weekend is from North Sanpete High School.
The winner of the July 6 battle will compete in the fall with winners from the June and August Friday Night Rockstar events at the amphitheater. The overall winner will open for a tribute band rock festival at the Ogden Amphitheater in September.
The first round in June was won by Mere Image, of Layton High School, which also took first place in the 2012 Standard-Examiner Battle of the Bands.
Headliner King Niko is a pop band based out of Salt Lake City and fronted by Ransom Wydner, who spent many of his growing-up years in the Ogden Valley. They have released three CDs since 2009.
Tickets are $5 at the door. For further details, go to www.ocae.org.
