Dr. Albert Hartman, who plays the role of "Dumbledore", takes part in a family effort to transform their home into Harry Potter's school, Hogwarts, each Halloween. Hartman is shown in a past event at his home in Uintah.

UINTAH HIGHLANDS — Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry comes to life Saturday at the Hartman home.

When the sky is dark, the Hartman family and friends transform into Dumbledore, Hagrid and other characters from the Harry Potter book series. Visitors to 6101 Spring Canyon Road can explore the Knight Bus, wand shop and other places not usually seen by muggles. There will also be activities such as fortune-telling.

The magic lasts until about 9:45 p.m., and admission is free. Last year, the Hartmans hosted about 3,000 people. Because the event is held at a private home, for the enjoyment of neighbors and real Harry Potter fans, the family asks that visitors follow signs and treat the road as a one-way street that evening.
