Get up close, personal with reptiles at library

Story - Jun 6 2012 - 12:16am
"Reptile Madness @ Your Library" will be presented at two branches of the Weber County Library.

Libraries may be a great place to check out books, but they're also a great place to check out reptiles. You don't get to take the reptiles home, but you can get up close to take a good look.

"Reptile Madness @ Your Library" starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, in the North Ogden branch library, at 475 E. 2600 North. James Dix, from Reptile Rescue, will be at the library with snakes and other reptiles, amphibians such as horned toads and giant lizards, and a few spiders. Library visitors are invited to learn about native and exotic species, and how to tell the difference between venomous and nonvenomous snakes.

The program is repeated at 7 p.m. June 13 at the Southwest branch library, 1950 W. 4800 South, Roy.

Admission is free.

For more information on the programs, call the North Ogden branch at 801-337-2650, or the Southwest branch at 801-337-2670.
