CENTERVILLE — Centerville’s Whitaker Museum, converted from a pioneer home, is undergoing a restoration — and that costs money. To pay for lights, trees and other items needed to finish the job, the museum staff is hosting a flea market.

The fundraiser starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, and continues until 2 p.m. in the west parking lot of the CenterPoint Legacy Theatre, 525 N. 400 West. Admission for shoppers is free.

Shoppers will find everything from furniture and clothing to home decor and art, electronics, books, kitchen items, toys and camping and fishing equipment. Many items are newer, but organizers are expecting to see some antiques for sale.

The Whitaker Museum is being restored to the way it looked in the late 1860s, but with modern wiring and other necessities. It’s expected to reopen in September.
