COLLINSTON — Audiences are invited to experience the magic of Disney in a lively evening of music and dance as the Old Barn Community Theatre presents “Remember the Magic: A Musical Tribute to Disney.”
The show, opening Friday, April 13, at the Collinston theater, features a bevy of favorite Disney characters, including some favorites that audiences may have forgotten about over the years.
Director Katherine Newman said the show appeals to both young and old and includes classic Disney numbers as well as more recent showstoppers. The first act of “Remember the Magic” ends with the rousing “Carrying the Banner” from “Newsies,” the 1992 Disney film about the newsboys strike of 1899 in New York City. The movie was recently turned into a Broadway musical.
“Remember the Magic: A Musical Tribute to Disney” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, April 13-28, with 2:30 p.m. Saturday matinees on April 14, 21 and 28, at the theater, 3605 Bigler Road, Collinston.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for children and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at www.oldbarn.org or by calling 435-458-2276. In a related event, the theater will host a Royal Princess Tea Party at 1 p.m. April 21. Tickets for the party are $15 and include admission to that day’s matinee.
