OGDEN — Some people get nervous talking about the birds and the bees, but there are certain facts everyone should know: The Union of the Birds and Bees is a fundraiser combining the best taste treats from Roosters Brewing Company, Union Grill and Beehive Cheese.
The event starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, in Ogden’s Union Station at 2501 Wall Ave. Tickets are $50.
Among the extensive menu for this year’s Union of the Birds and Bees is sliced beef medallions served on Beehive Promontory mashed potatoes, topped with Pepperlane preserves; raclette of melted Beehive Promontory with Rosemary over roasted potatoes; mini carne asada tacos with Beehive Smoked Habanero and fresh pico de gallo; and smoked St. Louis ribs with an espresso and lavender rub, served with Beehive Habanero mac-n-cheese. Dessert will be an assortment of goodies from Union Grill. Roosters will offer a selection of brews, including Bee’s Knees Honey Wheat, Junction City Chocolate Stout, and Polygamy Pale Ale. Guests receive a commemorative glass.
Live music will be performed by Celtic rockers Pladdohg.
The beneficiary of this year’s fundraiser is Union Station Foundation. Donations to the foundation are used for preservation of the historic rail station and support of its museums and programs.
Tickets are available online at www.beehivecheese.com, or they can be purchased at Beehive Cheese Creamery, Union Grill or Roosters restaurants in Ogden and Layton.
