OGDEN — The Basement hosts the finals of its Tournament of Champions, finishing this year’s two months of single-elimination rounds at 7 p.m. Saturday in the all-ages venue at 329 24th St.
The winner of this year’s competition receives $1,000, as well as free recording time courtesy of Ogden’s Tragically Average Studios and release, if the band so wishes, on the label.
The bands include Pleasant View band Tribes, Mermaid Baby of Roy, and Farmington bands Mountain Hymns and Beargrowl Wolfhowl.
As the scores are tallied, the Ogden band The Old World (formerly Matt Ben Jackson) will take the stage. Tickets are $5 in advance, if purchased from any of the bands in the contest, or $7 at the door.
