WELLSVILLE — The sounds of Scotland drift into Cache Valley on Saturday during the annual Cache Valley Celtic Festival & Highland Games.

Gates open at 9 a.m. and activities continue until 8 p.m. at the American West Heritage Center, 4025 S. U.S. 89-91.

Bagpipe bands will perform and Scottish and Irish dancing will be spotlighted. The event also includes Highland athletic competitions such as the caber toss.

A concert featuring Celtic music begins at 6 p.m.

The event is co-hosted by the Utah Scottish Association and celebrates the heritage of the Scots, Welsh and Irish. Serving as the chieftain of the games will be Lois Ann Garlitz, a national officer in the American Clan Gregor Society (the MacGregors).

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for age 12 to 18. Children 11 and younger are admitted free. Admission includes all events, or concert-only tickets may be purchased for $5.
