Musicians sought for free concert series

LAYTON — The Davis Arts Council is in search of musical artists to perform as part of this summer’s 40th annual Free Sunday Night Concert Series.

Acts must be appropriate for all ages and “should be generally uplifting in nature,” according to a news release from the council. “Typically, rock ’n’ roll, EDM, hip-hop, and other highly produced genres/acts aren’t appropriate for this series.”

Sets should be 50 to 60 minutes in length. Multiple artists may submit an application, but the overall one-hour limit — including changeover time — must be observed. The only technical production available will be the use of two microphones and the house sound system.

To apply for the 2019 summer series, send press kit that includes a music sample, an artist’s photo, and an introductory letter to tessa@davisarts.org (subject line: “Sunday Concert Consideration”).

Entries must be received by Feb. 15.

Rates of compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
