Winter Solstice Celebration 2017
December 17 @ 10 am - 12:30 pm
Come join our community celebration honoring the Winter Solstice. The Satya Center for Spiritual Living will honor the ancient ways and primal spirituality celebrated by our ancestors at the 9th Annual Winter Solstice Celebration on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 10 AM, at YCC, 2261 Adam’s Ave., Ogden, UT 84401. All are welcome!
The Solstice celebration will begin with a crystal singing bowls meditation followed by the soul stirring sounds of Lezlee Monroe and Inspire Choir. The celebration continues with special guest musician, Aaron English, an uplifting message from Rev. Ali Benjamin, “Awaken the Light Within”, a ceremony to honor the season cycles, elements, and the four directions, concluding with a Solstice renewal circle and world peace prayer (bring rattles, shakers, bells, etc…)
A pot-luck lunch will follow, you are welcome to bring a dish to share. If you would like to join in the fun, volunteer, it’s a great way to feel the holiday cheer and share the love!
“This time of year can be overwhelming with all the additional demands such as guests, parties, shopping, plays, performances, travel etc. We are offering a respite, a couple of hours off from the busyness this time of year brings. Taking time for mindful contemplation of the reason for the season will help bring inner peace amid the outer turmoil.” Says Ali Benjamin, the director of the Center.
