Scientist in the Spotlight is held on the first and third Friday of each month from 2 p.m.–4 p.m. at NHMU. The program allows Museum guests to meet real scientists and discuss their research. Scientists will be available in the Naturalist Lab.
Join Stacie Bender, a geospatial scientist for the Forest Service, who uses science to track changes on the Earth. Through observations taken by people on the ground, from airplanes, and from satellites, Forest Service teams, including Stacie, can better understand Earth’s shifting surface. See plant samples up close, examine images of Earth from airplanes and satellites, and try your hand at a game that puts you in the seat of a geospatial scientist trying to identify different landscape types though aerial photography and imagery.
