Learn the basics to beginning beekeeping. USU Extension will be hosting a class taught by a local beekeeping expert. Topics include understanding the honey bee colony, types of hives, hive placement, pros and cons to different bee species, maintenance and management of the hive including winter management, honey extraction, and common diseases and problems.
Class includes a monthy field-trip opportunity for a hive check at the USU Botanical Center with a beekeeper, providing hands-on experience and a chance to observe and ask questions in the field.
