BOYS SOCCER: Layton Christian demolishes Intermountain Christian; roundup

LAYTON — Layton Christian blistered Intermountain Christian with seven goals in the first half and went on to win 10-0 Friday.

Bartomeu Tortella Mestre had three goals and Fabrizio Tufano tallied two.

Marcelo Holanda, Jesus Tomasi, Ryan Arevalo, Chris Masozera and Sebastian Oliver Amengual also scored for the Eagles.

Tufano tallied two assists while Holanda, Tomasi, Antoni Frontera Rosell and goalkeeper Davis Bagire each picked up one assist.

BOUNTIFUL 7, HIGHLAND 0

SALT LAKE CITY — Bountiful scored five goals in the second half to obliterate Highland.

The Braves got on the board in the first minute of the game and added their second goal during stoppage time in the first half.

Bountiful scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half to double its lead, then added goals in the 59th, 68th and 76th minutes.

WOODS CROSS 1, BONNEVILLE 0

WOODS CROSS — Rajish Beard scored the only goal of the game halfway through the second period of extra time to give Woods Cross a win over Bonneville.

EAST 3, BOX ELDER 2

BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder lost its Region 5 opener to East.
