This is a weekly round-up of new charges and ongoing proceedings in Weber and Davis county courts for April 11-14.
Anthony Saeid Arashnia, 32, was charged in Weber County with one count of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony.
Documents filed in 2nd District Court say on April 7, police received a call about a disturbance involving a weapon at the Riverdale Village Trailer Park at 4375 S. Weber River Drive. Arashnia allegedly waved a black baton at the victim, Zachary Prigmore, and the two scuffled, placing each other in headlocks.
Prigmore told police that Arashnia had put the baton to his neck and choked him by applying pressure. Arashnia is scheduled for an initial appearance in court on April 20.
Anthony Dwain Weir-Adams, 40, was charged in Weber County on one count of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony; domestic violence in the presence of a child, a third-degree felony; and violating a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to court documents, police were summoned to the Budget Inn at 1956 Washington Blvd. for a disturbance between a man and a woman. The woman had cuts around her eyes and fresh bruises to her face and told officers that she had a protective order against Weir-Adams.
She said Weir-Adams ambushed her in the hotel room where she had been staying with her six-month-old child, punched her in the face and held a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her. Weir-Adams had cuts to his forearms that crime scene investigators determined to be self-inflicted, the court documents said.
Weir-Adams had an initial appearance Tuesday, April 11, in 2nd District Court in Ogden.
Cameron James Bowles, 20, was charged in Davis County with four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; and two counts of dealing in materials harmful to a minor, a third-degree felony.
According to court documents, in February 2016, a 17-year-old girl sent four photos of her breasts and genitalia to Bowles, and Bowles sent the girl two pictures of his penis.
He is scheduled to be arraigned April 27.
