Happy 50th Anniversary!: Dennis V. and Colleen Richardson

Dennis V. and Colleen Richardson of Roy, Utah, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on February 24, 2017.

They were married civilly on February 24, 1967, after a love at first sight courtship. They then sealed their marriage February 24, 1969, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Dennis was raised in North Ogden, Utah, with his parents, William Vernon and Una Mae Montgomery Richardson. He was the oldest of seven children. He graduated from Weber High School. He worked at the Paramount Bowl in Ogden, Northern Utah Office Machines and Hill Air Force Base. He then retired from Hill Air Force Base after 34 years. He now loves to go fishing as often as possible.

Colleen was raised in Ogden, Utah, with her parents, Merlin D. and Nedra Dallof Jensen. She was the third of seven children. She graduated from Ogden High School and Stephen Henager's College. She worked at Farmer's Insurance, USDA Forest Service, Ogden Supply Depot and IRS. She then retired from IRS after 23 years. She now loves to make quilts for all her loved ones.

Dennis and Colleen raised six children: Denise Hargis, Roy, Utah; Renee Ellis, Silver Springs, Maryland; Melinda Criddle, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Bradley D. Richardson, Tremonton, Utah; Cody Ray Richardson, Utah; and Matthew A. Richardson, Toole, Utah.

Their first love is their family which has grown to five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.

Their passions are fishing, camping, traveling to Alaska, and wintering in Arizona.

The LDS church has been an important part of their life with all the different callings they have served. Family is the glue that has kept them a loving couple for 50 years.

An Open House will be held February 24, 2017, at 6003 S. 3850 W. in Roy, Utah, 84067 from 5 to 8 p.m.
