‘The Children’ to open at Good Company
OGDEN — Beginning Friday, Good Company Theatre presents “The Children,” a one-act play by Olivier Award-winning British playwright Lucy Kirkwood.
The play tells the story of a pair of retired nuclear engineers living a quiet life on a lonely British coast in the aftermath of a devastating series of world events. When an old friend turns up at their door, they’re shocked to learn the real reason for her visit.
Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturday, with 4 p.m. shows on the second Saturday and Sunday. The play continues through May 12 at Good Company Theatre, 2404 Wall Ave.
An American Sign Langugage performance will be offered on May 11.
“Lucy Kirkwood has a very sly way about her playwriting,” theater co-founder Alicia Washington is quoted in a news release. “‘The Children’ can feel dark and full of intrigue in one moment, and then turns into something more poignant and tender.”
The play is directed by Nicole Kinney, and features performances by Colleen Baum, Kevin Ireland and Camille Van Wagoner.
“The Children” contains some adult language, as well as mild adult content. It is recommended for audiences age 13 and older.
Tickets are $20, available at www.goodcotheatre.com or at the box office before each show.
