Choir and orchestra to present annual holiday concert at St. Joseph Church
OGDEN — Heavenly music in a heavenly venue.
The annual holiday concerts by the combined Weber State University choir and orchestra return this weekend. The WSU Choir and Orchestra Holiday Concert will involve two performances — at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. — on Sunday, Dec. 2, at St. Joseph Church, 514 24th St.
The concerts have become an annual tradition at the church, with the choir and orchestra combining to perform carols and other holiday music.
Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and military, and $4.50 for students.

MC Magic brings the beat to Paradise Club
OGDEN — MC Magic brings his English and Spanish rapping to town this weekend.
The MC Magic show begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Paradise Club, 366 36th St., Ogden.
MC Magic, whose given name is Marcus Cardenas, is a Hispanic rapper, songwriter and record producer known for rapping and singing in both English and Spanish. Born in Mexico, his family immigrated to the U.S. when he was 5, settling in Phoenix, Arizona.
His first album was 1995’s “Don’t Worry.” Among MC Magic’s other albums are “Magic City,” “Magic City Part 2,” “The Rewire” and “Million Dollar Mexican.”
The concert is presented by Los Reyes Productions.

Browning String Trio brings chamber music to Weber
OGDEN — The Browning String Trio will present an evening of passionate chamber music this weekend.
The biannual string concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in the Browning Center’s Allred Theater at Weber State University, 3848 Harrison Blvd.
Featured musicians at the event will be Shi-Hwa Wang on violin, Viktor Uzur on cello, and Francisco de Galvez on viola.
Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and military, and $4.50 for students.

WSU Chamber Ensembles perform in concert
OGDEN — Weber State University string students will present a concert next week on campus.
The WSU Chamber Ensembles concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the Browning Center’s Garrison Choral Room on the Weber State Ogden campus, 3848 Harrison Blvd.
Admission is free.
‘All is Calm, All is Bright’ comes to Ben Lomond High
OGDEN — The Ben Lomond High School Alumni Choir will perform a holiday concert this weekend.
The choir, directed by Ann Moulton, will present “All is Calm, All is Bright” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, in the Ben Lomond High School auditorium, 1080 9th St.
The program will include traditional Christmas music, with a special section honoring World War I veterans. The concert takes place just a few weeks after the 100th anniversary of the treaty that ended fighting on the western front.
Admission is $5 per person, available at the door. Proceeds will be used to fund arts scholarships for students at the high school.
