OGDEN — The big news for the November First Friday Art Stroll? Free weed!
Well, milkweed, actually. O1|PLATFORMS is offering free native milkweed seed packets — while supplies last — at The Monarch building on Friday evening. The giveaway is in conjunction with the Migrating Mural project that has brought the image of monarch butterflies to the site. Planting native milkweed species helps provided much-needed habitat for the declining butterfly.
Planned for 6-9 p.m. Friday, the November art stroll includes exhibit openings, artist receptions and a smattering of live music and refreshments.
New this month is The Corner, a community hotspot at the southwest corner of Washington Boulevard and Historic 25th Street. Maps for the art stroll are available here.
Also new to the art stroll this month is Hippie Skin, at 2424 Wall Ave., which is featuring a photographic exhibit dealing with women facing and overcoming their insecurities.
And finally, Van Sessions returns with its fall season of live musical performances from the Tan Van. Epicenter for the music will be the parking area just east of The Monarch building, 455 25th St.
