For many people, Halloween just isn’t Halloween without the annual visit to a haunted house or corn maze.

Maybe both.

Here’s a selection of Northern Utah corn mazes and haunted houses to choose from during the month of October:

The Corn Maize, 2801 S. 3500 West, West Haven

This popular West Haven attraction features a corn maze, zip line, hay slide, bounce house, barrel train, campfire, pumpkin theater, light show and much more. There is also a pumpkin patch offering pumpkins and straw bales for sale, and food and drink is also available for purchase.

On Friday and Saturday nights, a Zombie Apocalypse is offered — all the fright of a haunted corn maze, complete with tactical laser tag rifles to fight off zombies.

Hours for The Corn Maize are 4-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 4-11 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, through Oct. 31.

Admission is $8 for the corn maze and most other activities. Zombie Apocalypse admission is $15.

Black Island Farms, 2075 S. 4000 West, Syracuse

The farm’s popular fall festival is in a new location, but the fun is still the same. Activities include a corn maze, cow train, straw mountain, giant slide, pig races, hayrides, and more.

Nightmare Acres, the attraction’s haunted corn maze, is not being offered this year.

Hours are 4-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 4 p.m.-midnight Friday, 10 a.m.-midnight Saturday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, through Oct. 30.

Admission, depending on the activities, is $8-$16 for adults and $5-$11 for ages 3-12.

Gibson’s Green Acres, 449 S. 4700 West, Ogden

Green Acres offers a dairy, corn maze and pumpkin patch through the end of October. Activities include a corn maze, haunted maze, wagon ride and courtyard featuring a petting zoo, corn pit, straw mountain, slides, rubber duck races, pumpkin bowling, pig races and more.

Hours are 4-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 4-11 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is $8/corn maze, $8/haunted maze, $5/wagon ride, $3/courtyard entrance. Combo and VIP passes for various activities range from $10 to $18. A season pass is $45.

Haunted Hollow, 1550 S. 1900 West, West Haven

Wander through a 13-acre dark and murky forest, complete with swamps, mine shafts, dungeons, caves, shacks and other frightening sights. Food and drink also available.

Hours are 7:30-10 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, plus Oct. 22, 23, 29 and 30; 7:30 p.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday.

Admission is $21, a fast pass is $26. An all-night fast pass is also available for $30.

Frightmares at Lagoon, 375 Lagoon Drive, Farmington

The amusement park shows its dark side, with all the usual rides, games and food, plus double-digit haunted attractions and Halloween-themed entertainment.

Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 30.

Frightmares attractions are included with Lagoon’s admission ticket: $62.95/adults, $52.95/age 65-older, $41.95/children under 48 inches tall.

Cold Springs Trout Farm, 2284 Fruitland Drive, North Ogden

The fun fishing spot offers a 2-acre corn maze through Halloween. After dusk, a haunted maze opens up.

Hours for the maze are 9 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday Saturday.

Admission is $10, or $7 before 7 p.m. A Date Night Package includes two maze tickets, entrance to the outdoor movie theater, popcorn and soda or cocoa and s’mores for $20.

Day Farms, 2500 W. Gentile Road, Layton

A pumpkin patch and hayrides are offered through Oct. 27, weather and pumpkin availability permitting.

Hours are 4-7 p.m. Mondays and Fridays, 1-7 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is $5 per person, which includes a hayride and one pumpkin. Ages 1-younger admitted free.
