The Ziegfeld Theater, 3934 S. Washington Blvd., Ogden

Kick off the Sunday shoes! The ’80s Top 40 film never sounded so good, boasting the original songs audiences have loved for decades and more. A throwback to teen romance, angst and, of course, the need to dance, “Footloose” celebrates the wisdom in listening to young people and guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.

THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE

Beverly’s Terrace Plaza Playhouse, 99 E. 4700 South, Washington Terrace

A small-town girl named Millie Dillmount comes to New York during the 1920s to marry for money rather than love. Her adventures entail staying in a hotel owned by the leader of the white slavery ring in China and transforming her life to become a modern flapper girl. This musical is a comical delight that will leave the audience tapping their feet along with the flashy dancers on stage.

CENTERVILLE

THE LITTLE MERMAID

CenterPoint Legacy Theatre, 525 N. 400 West, Centerville

Follow us under the sea to a lively, magical world where mermaids and sea creatures sing, dance and play in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” Ariel, a headstrong nautical princess, has fallen in love with her father, King Triton’s worst nightmare — a human. What lengths is she willing to go to find her true love? With the help of her friends Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle, Ariel heads off on an adventure that is splashingly good fun for the whole family!

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE

Heritage Theatre, 2505 S. Highway 89, Perry

Winner of five Tony Awards, “The Drowsy Chaperone” is a musical within a comedy. Imagine the passion of a dedicated Broadway fan coupled with the paralyzing fear of an agoraphobic. You are now acquainted with Man in Chair, your guide and commentator for the evening. Kick back with him and enjoy a rare recording of a smash Broadway hit from the safety and comfort of his dingy apartment. Surely the music and drama will cure any sadness or unease lingering around the fringes of your life. “The Drowsy Chaperone” will ensnare, elevate and soothe any ill with high notes, clever comedy and panache truly worthy of Broadway.

ROBIN HOOD

Utah Children’s Theatre, 3605 S. State Street, South Salt Lake

Robin of Locksley is the heroic outlaw of English folklore, known for robbing the rich and giving to the poor. Prince John, Guy of Gisbourne, and the Sheriff of Nottingham plot to take the crown while King Richard is away. Robin Hood–with the help of Little John, Friar Tuck and the men of Sherwood–fights to save all who are oppressed.
